Alumnae Panel

Alumnae Panel

Yesterday the class met a panel of guest alumnae from the University of Washington iSchool. Here are the three people that I researched for the assignment:

Janella Ignacio is a UX designer at Data Science Dojo. She graduated from the University of Washington in 2014. Besides UX she has done content and product management.

  1. Data Science Dojo runs boot camps for professionals and other people. What do you as a UX designer do for the company?
  2. What did you do for Med Bridge as a content manger?
  3. What type of technology do you want to see invented in your lifetime?

Laura McFarlane is a business analyst and project manager at Nordstrom. She coordinates with business partners and uses management techniques to make sure everyone collaborates. She has been the president of the RCSA at UW, and intern at Nordstrom, and an intern at Microsoft.

  1. What do you do as a business analyst for Nordstrom?
  2. What was it like to be the president of the RCSA?
  3. What type of technology do you want to see invented in your lifetime?

Carla Englander is a business systems analyst at the UW. She knows her stuff when it comes to databases and project management. She graduated the UW in 2010 from the iSchool but first got her BA’s in History and European Studies.

  1. What does the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Personnel do? I have never heard of it.
  2. Why did you decide to get a masters in Information Management after getting a BA in both European Studies and History?
  3. What type of technology do you want to see invented in your lifetime?
